SailTime is a fractional sailing program that allows members to lease a 1/8 fraction of a sailboat from 33 to 51 feet. Enjoy a professionally managed yacht without the commitments and financial obligations of ownership.

How Fractional Sailing Works

A maximum of eight individuals share time aboard a fully equipped sailboat for a fixed monthly fee. There are no per usage charges and you do not pay extra for insurance, maintenance, or slip fees. Even fuel is included in your monthly membership.

Own a Yacht & Get Paid for the Pleasure

Have you dreamt of owning a boat? With SailTime, it can become a reality. Buy a boat with the confidence that revenue from SailTime will offset much of your boat's expenses. With a worldwide fleet of over 150 boats, you can rest assured that the program works.

Your boat. Your terms. Our support.

As an Owner Member, you purchase a new Beneteau sailboat or catamaran and sign a Boat Management Agreement with SailTime. You decide how many members share your boat—from 1 to 7.

The typical choice is to hold a double membership (one full week of access per month) while allowing six other members to share the remaining time. More members means more revenue for you.

SailTime handles all the marketing, advertising, boat shows, and member sourcing. You own the boat; we help make it work for you financially.

About SailTime Newport Beach

Since 2005, we have been helping sailors in Orange County experience the joy of boating without the hassles of ownership. Our passion for sailing drives everything we do.
Sailtime Newport Beach - Our Founders

Meet Our Founders

Chris and Angele Jester purchased the SailTime franchise for Orange County in January 2005 and began building the fleet and business. They purchased the first boat at the San Diego Boat Show, becoming the first Owner Members for the Newport Beach fleet. The fractional sailing concept quickly caught on, and over 25 boats have been brought into the Newport Beach fleet over the years.

Both graduates of the University of San Diego, Chris later earned his MBA from UC Irvine while Angele earned her Masters in Inter-Cultural Communication from San Diego State University. After years in Fortune 500 corporate careers and traveling the world, Chris found the perfect entrepreneurial opportunity in his hometown of Orange County.

Chris and Angele live in Costa Mesa, California with their two children. They enjoy family time on their boats, which include a Beneteau 38.1, Beneteau 35.1, a Harbor 20, and a sabot.
